Samsung Galaxy S8 is launching next month, Samsung has revealed. Samsung at its Sunday keynote in Barcelona confirmed that Galaxy Unpacked 2017 will be held on March 29 at New York City, where the company is set to launch its next key device in the aftermath of a burning battery scandal, the Galaxy S8, on March 29 Previous reports indicate the smartphone will only go on sale by April 21.

The South Korean giant confirmed that the March 29 event will take place in New York, and will kick off at 11 am EDT. The invite further said, “The forthcoming addition to the Galaxy line-up represents the start of a new era, by reshaping the device that has over the years become an indispensable tool in our everyday lives.” Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event will be also live-streamed on the company’s website.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are expected to be cheaper than Google’s Pixel and iPhone 7 lineup at the time of launch.
The Galaxy S8’s main attraction is rumoured to be a new AI assistant named Bixby. While Bixby will accept voice commands and offer replies to queries, it is also expected to do visual search right within the camera app. Other leaks hint at 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and 3500mAh battery on the larger S8+ variant.

Samsung is also likely to introduce a new dock that will convert the phone into a desktop device, a very Microsoft-like approach. The implementation is expected to mimic Microsoft’s Continuum and Samsung might include the dock with the S8.
