Gainesville Police Department’s “hot cops” back in headlines but this their post is creating negative buzz. Three GDP officers Nordman, Hamill and Rengering posted their selfie on Facebook on Sunday which has been shared by around 300,000 people and contains nearly garnered tens of thousands of comments — most of them are flirtatious comment following their good looks.
The police department has received the complaint against the “hot cops” of Florida for making anti-Semitic jokes on Facebook.
According to a screenshot received by Gainesville Sun, a post from April 2013 reads, “Who knew that reading Jewish jokes before I go to bed would not only make me feel better about myself but also help me to sleep better as well.”
“Here is one for everybody, ‘What’s the difference between boy scouts and Jews?’ anybody know? well it is because ‘Boy Scouts come back from their camps.'”
One commenter criticized the post and called it “messed up.” In response to the comment, Hamill wrote, “u don’t like it? Don’t read it then.”
A spokesperson for the department, Officer Ben Tobias has refused to reveal whether officer Hamil had been disciplined by the department in any way. He wrote in an email, “GPD is reviewing the allegation and will do in accordance to Florida law and department policy.”
The email reads: “Under Florida law, complaint information is confidential until an investigation is concluded.”
One lady wrote, “So, then they handcuffed me and said, ‘Anything I say will be held against me.'” She wrote, “So I said, ‘Officer Rengering.'”
The flirtatious comments turned into denouncing comments after officer Hamill’s another Facebook post from 2011 was spotted.
Officer Hamil wrote, “So I find it funny that people will talk about how our government needs to do something about our economy and in reality it’s YOU who needs to stop taking advantage of our system and get a life and do something with your life.”
“Gotta love reality when it hits you in the face. Stupid people annoy me. Put them in an oven and deal with them the Hitler way. Haha.”
