At the North America auto show on January 8, 2017, on Sunday Google has announced that he will launch his self-driving minivans which will deploy on the public roads by the end of this month. Earlier Google has planned to build his own car but, dropping his idea of building his own car he just refocused on making the software & hardware needed to power self-driving. The self-driving minivans will explore in the countries like Phoenix, Arizona, California etc. The deal about self-driving minivans was earlier first announced in May 2016.

The deal i.e., between the Google & the Fiat Chrysler, was announced earlier only & Google & Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have agreed to work together to build 100 self-driving minivans. The engineers of both the parties will work together for the self-driving minivans & which will also include their sensors & software’s.

Some analysts have said that a self-driven minivan would also make sense for testing their technology in the controlled environment like the campus or the city centre of Google or Fiat Chrysler. Collaborating with Google provides a bright opportunity for Fiat Chrysler,” to partner with one of the leading technology companies to increase their pace of innovation in the automotive industry.

Google has said that self-driving minivans are not the sharing proprietary, however, and the vehicles will not be offered for sale to public. The other auto companies are accelerating efforts to master the complex hardware’s & the artificial intelligence systems that are required to allow vehicles to pilot themselves. “Minivans fit into the transportation fleets easily,” Karl Brauer, a senior analyst.

Google has also said that they don’t want to build the self-driving vehicles of their own but, working more closely with Fiat Chrysler has really helped Google in refining its systems in stepping forward in the regular production of the cars.
