The most talented actress Alia Bhatt was awarded as the Best Actor (Female) for her latest movie Udta Punjab whereas Aamir Khan took the award for the Best Actor (Male) trophy for his superhit movie Dangal. On the other hand Nitesh Tiwari was also awarded as the Best Director Award for Dangal. Shahid Kappoor also won the Critics Award for the Best Actor (Male) for Udta Punjab and Sonam Kapoor received the Critics Award for Best Actor (Female) for the movie Neerja.
Once again in Bollywood three Khan’s completed the best category. Arijit Singh swept award in music category for the Best Playback Singer (Male) for the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil while Amit Bhattacharya won the Best Lyricist Award for the most lovely song Channa Mereya. On the other hand Neha Bhasin received award for the Best Playback Singer (Female) for the Sultan’s most popular song Jag Ghoomeya. Rishi Kapoor for Kapoor and Sons and Shabana Azmi for Neerja took the award for the Best Supporting Actors Male and Female.
This was not the first time when Aamir Khan was honored as the Best Actor (Male) he had last won the Best Actor (Male) Award for the movie Lagaan in the year 2001. Unfortunately, Aamir Khan wasn’t present at the latest Filmfare Award 2017. Alia Bhatt felt really good after receiving the Best Actor (Female) Award for the first time. This was the most precious moment for her.
Alia Bhatt also thanked Shahid Kapoor for sending her the script and said Udta Punjab is very close to my heart. Nitesh Tiwari said “This award is the reassurance of how much people loved Dangal and I would like to thank everyone who loved and supported our film. It means everything.” Manoj Bajpayee too won the best Critics Award (Male) for Aligargh.
Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award by his daughter and actress Sonakshi Sinha. An emotional Mr Sinha said: “Many people feel if you get the Lifetime Achievement Award it’s the end, but I feel it’s just the beginning.”
Diljit Dosanjh received the Best Male Debut award for Udta Punjab and Ritika Singh got the Best Female Debut award for Saala Khadoos, co-starring R Madhavan.
