One winning Powerball jackpot ticket has made Massachusetts woman instantly millionaire. The odds of winning the jackpot was 1 in millions.
53-years-old Mavis Wanczyk lives in Massachusetts is the $758.7 million Powerball jackpot winning ticket holder for the Wednesday night’s drawing.
$758.7 million jackpot is the biggest winning prize for a single winning ticket in the history of North America.
During the press conference on Thursday, Wanczyk said, “It’s just a pipe dream I’ve always had.” She added, “It’s just a chance I had to take.”
Wanczyk bought the winning Powerball jackpot ticket from the Pride Station and Store, she works near in Chicopee. 6-7-16-23-26 were the Wednesday night’s drawing winning numbers with the Powerball (final number) 4.
Wanczyk has a 26-year-old son and 31-year-old daughter, she was shocked to that she had won the second biggest jackpot prize in the history of the game. She was with a colleague when she checked her lottery’s number, she told her that she had grabbed the $758.7 million Powerball jackpot.
Wanczyk is still shocked that how she got so lucky. She said, “I couldn’t drive anywhere, I couldn’t do anything.”
The executive director of the Massachusetts State Lottery, Michael Sweeney said in his statement, “When manually recording the names of the retailers that sold the jackpot winning ticket and the $1 million winning tickets, the information was transcribed incorrectly. We apologize for the confusion this created and remain thrilled that a jackpot winning ticket and two $1 million winning tickets were sold here in Massachusetts.”
As per an estimate, the Powerball jackpot will be reset now to around $40 million. Wednesday drawing prize is the second largest lottery prize after January 2016’s jackpot prize of $1.6 billion which was shared by 3 people.
The $758.7 million jackpot comes with annuity payout option, the winning ticket holder gets 30 installments over 29 years with the increase of 5% annually.
