A recent report now tells that your kid’s allergy from cow milk can create the situation of less weight and low height. Our study begins to fill this research gap but further study is needed, especially as children enter their teens, to gauge whether these growth deficits are transitory or lasting.”

Looking at food labelling, many items ‘may contain milk,’ which severely narrows what could be a wide variety of food items for growing children.”

  1. This sounds like there is a lot of propaganda from the dairy interests behind it. This has been going on from the start of dairying in human cultures, even before there was an industry or a dairy lobby. Humans spent most of our history not drinking any milk except that from our mothers, or in emergencies, other human mothers. Milk is for infants of the same species, though sharing is possible up to a point. Milk is for infants, not adults. When dairying took hold, the people in charge tried to erase the fact that weaned humans have been able to get the necessary nutrients from milk from adult foods everywhere humans have thrived. The dairy interests tried to eliminate the knowledge of those other sources, and even to eliminate those sources, so that people became dependent on dairy products and also believed they had to be. This story doesn’t tell readers if the children allergic to cattle milk were also allergic to human milk, or milk from, say, goats or horses, which people have also used. There is also the fact that physical anthropologists comparing bones of primitive hunter-gatherers with those of modern peoples with dairying have noted the denser bones of the former; I think it’s analogous to the tree rings of old-growth trees in virgin forests, compared to tree rings in modern timber plantations. The old-growth wood is stronger in great part because its rings are closer. Finally, early Europeans in North America noticed the greater height and health of the Native Americans compared to themselves, even though none of the natives had ever drunk cow’s milk. They were better nourished from the adult sources of those nutrients.
