Stephen K. Bannon the former White House chief strategist urged voters to join hand with him in his vow “war against the [Republican] establishmen.” Bannon wants voters to join the Senate leadership and threatens that campaign war will not provide protection to the GOP incumbents from the conservative angry voters.
During the Values Voter Summit in Washington on Saturday, Bannon said, “It’s not my war; this is our war.” He said, “And y’all didn’t start it, the establishment started it.”
During the annual gathering of the social conservative activists, in a speech the informal adviser of United States President Donald Trump, made fun of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and suggested that he is eagerly waiting for the day when McConnell’s leadership will be undermined by a fellow Republican publicly.
By referring to the group of senators who was assassinated the Roman leader in Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” by backstabbing attack, Bannon declared, “Up on Capitol Hill, it’s the Ides of March.”
Bannon said regarding McConnell, “They’re just looking to find out who is going to be Brutus to your Julius Caesar.”
Bannon who runs the website Breitbart News attacked at the former first lady and former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in his speech. He also leveled attacks at the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Bannon said, “It’s a test of wills.” He added, “We’re going to determine … who is more powerful: the money of the corporatists or the muscle of the people.”
Bannon took goal at Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), Corker suggested last week that President Trump is not fit for the office and described the White House as an “adult day care” center.
By recounting GOP lawmaker Corker’s comment, Bannon said, “Bob Corker has trashed the commander in chief of our armed forces while we have young men and women in harm’s way, right? He said he’s leading them on a path to World War III, that he’s not stable, that people have to keep him moderated.”
