Showtime has renewed “Billions” for the third season, which has been announced three weeks into the second season and which have the obvious reason as of its growing demand. The series has attracted an audience of 4.4 million viewers in only a year.

About Billions, the premium cabler’s David Nevins said, “Billions continues to be a show on the rise, growing not only in the audience but the critical buzz and cultural relevance.” This is quite true in fact. Rotten Tomatoes based on 49 reviews has given 73% rating to Billion series so far. Moreover, the series has received “generally favorable review” on 69 out of 100 based of 37 critic’s review.
David Nevins further added, “It offers a unique mix of pure entertainment with sly commentary on our current have/have-not economy. Season 2 is off to a tremendous start, and has only whetted our audience’s appetite for what will come in Season 3.”
Other than Billions, the network also announced the returning of other dramas, such as Shameless, Ray Donovan, and The Affair. Besides old running dramas, Showtime is also working on a new project, which is an adaptation of English author Edward St. Aubyn’s Booker Prize-winning novels. It is said to be a five-part project, announced by Showtime Networks CEO and President David Nevins. Regarding this, Cumberbatch and Producer Adam Ackland said, “We are delighted to be part of this incredible series. We have been huge fans if these books for many years and David Nicholls’ adaptations are extraordinary.” It is not to be ignored that Cumberbatch has been nominated for four Primetime Emmy Award and has won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries (Movie) for Sherlock. Therefore, it will be a great treat to watch him in this show.
It is also being said that Damian Lewis, Paul Giamatti, Maggie Siff and Malin Akerman will be back in Billions season 3 that is expected to debut in early 2018
