On Thursday, a Jodhpur court found Bollywood superstar Salman Khan guilty in the 1988 blackbuck poaching case.
While shooting a film in the western part of Rajasthan, Salman Khan killed two blackbucks, a protected species with other four starred actors.
The case has been absolved the other four actors — Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam. The punishment has not been announced yet for Salman Khan. During the shooting of the film “Hum Saath Saath Hain,” Salman killed two blackbucks on 2 October 1998 in Kankani village near Jodhpur.
Salman, Saif, Tabu, Neelam, Sonali Bendre have reached the court. The court has begun the process of hearing in the blackbuck poaching case.
Salman wore a black shirt with faded denim jeans. In Jodhpur court, local lawyers complained that VIP treatment is being given to Salman and other four actors and their entries to the court in being prohibited due to the treatment is given to them.
In the blackbuck poaching case, the other four actors — Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre have left the court after the legal procedures were completed against them and are boarding their flight to Mumbai soon on 5 April 2018. The court announced the punishment against Salman Khan till he couldn’t leave the court. A fifth person, Dushyant Singh along with the other four actors has also left the court.
Before announcing the quantum of punishment, the court has given one hour to both parties. At the time of announcing the order, Salman would have to be in a court.
Under Section 9/51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, Salman is facing charges of 6 years in prison and judges have left the court at 12:11 p.m.
In addition, Bollywood superstar Salman found not guilty in a 2002 hit-and-run case in December 2015, in which a homeless man lost his life.
Tiger Zinda Hai star was the verdict of not guilty in another poaching case back in July 2016.
