Captain Marvel is yet another Marvel movie based on the Marvel comics charcater Carol Danvers. It is the 21st movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is penned by Anna Bodena nd Ryan Fleck, who also helmed the movie as well. Brie Larson is seen as the protagonist Danvers along with Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace. When the earth becomes caught in the middle of galatic conflict then Danvers becomes Captain Marvel. Brie Larson has done a lot to get in the character, so as we can see in the movie. She leant judo, boxing and wrestling and prepared for the role.
The movie was presumed to do well as ofcourse it is a Marvel movie and they have a separate fanbase all over the world. On Tuesday it was expected that the movie will mint $500 million at the box office. In just four days after release, the movie took in $164.3 million and created good results in international market also. $325.6 million were collected in six days internationally. Mainly the collection was done from China. Approximately $95 million from China, $25.3 million from South Korea, $18.1 million from the U.K.
Disney also said the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 21 titles have topped a cumulative $18 billion at the worldwide box office to date. “Captain Marvel’s” $455 million global opening weekend was the sixth-highest launch of all time. “Captain Marvel” posted the 18th-biggest domestic debut ever, since “Incredibles 2” launched with $182 million in June. It performed well above studio projections, which had pegged the film at $125 million.
According to Comscore “Captain Marvel has revived the 2019 domestic box office, which had plunged by 27% before the weekend. It’s now down 21%, at $1.79 billion.” Captain Marvel will also be seen in the upcoming movie of Marvel which is much awaited, Avengers: Endgame. The movie will also set a new benchmark in the collections.
