In the recent news, hurricane Florence has again regained its strength on Sunday as the weather officials have predicted that it will be turning to a major storm. The storm now aims for a possible hit which will be on the Southern US later this week.
As per the National Hurricane Center, Florence is now forecast to become a major hurricane on Monday. It is expected that it will be growing larger as well as it will be moving faster over the next few days.
At 5 PM on Sunday, Florence was centered about 720 miles southeast of Bermuda, and it is moving towards the west at about 7 miles per hour. The storm has already crossed about 74 miles per hour threshold from tropical storm to hurricane on a Sunday morning. BY the evening of Sunday the wind speed has become 85 miles per hour. The Forecasters has warned that it may be a Category 4 with the winds of about 130 mph or more.
The hurricane center said that it is very early to say about the path of the storm, but it may hit the coast of the Carolinas by Friday. As per the Miami-based center, it said that there is an increase in the risk of two life-threatening impacts from Florence. The storm surge at the coast and the freshwater flooding which is from the prolonged heavy rainfall event will occur inland.
As per the meteorologists, they have warned that the large swells of waves will be hitting Bermuda and eastern coast and it will continue throughout the week.
The governors of the North as well as South Carolina, along with Virginia have declared states of the emergency to prepare for the storm. McMaster, Who is Governor of South Carolina said that the state is preparing for the worst but till now the path is unclear, so evacuation is not ordered.
