Former teen idol David Cassidy dies at the age of 67

The organ failure put David Cassidy into the critical condition, he took his last breath on Tuesday and died at the age of 67.

The Partridge Family and the popular ’70s teen idol, David Cassidy — who had been fighting for his life due to liver and kidney failure has lost the biggest battle of his life and said GoodBye to the world.

A retired American actor, singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Cassidy has died at the age of 67. His publicist Jo-Ann Geffen confirmed his death news.

Cassidy was desperately needed a liver transplant, he had been admitted to the intensive care unit of a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, area hospital. He reached the hospital in pain on Wednesday.

The organ failure put him into the critical condition, he took his last breath on Tuesday, according to Geffen.

She said, “David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”

Jack Cassidy, the nephew of Cassidy, took his Twitter and wrote about the death of his uncle, “My uncle David Cassidy has sadly passed away tonight… & in the process of mourning I can’t help but thank God for the joy that he brought to countless millions of people! I don’t think I’m alone in saying that we will all miss him. God Speed.”

The ex-teen idol Cassidy was born into the entertainment industry which helped him to become a star. He is best known for his role as Keith Partridge, the son of Shirley Partridge in the 1970s musical sitcom The Partridge Family, the show ran from 1970 to 1974. He was at the peak of his career in 1972 when he appeared on Rolling Stone magazine’s cover in a carefully cropped nude shot.

He also appeared in several other TV series —  “Bonanza,” “Adam-12,” “Marcus Welby, M.D.” and “Ironside.”
