Big news for GOT fans, the show won’t return until 2019 and the fans have to wait for a long time — a complete year! HBO made an official announcement that “Game of Thrones” Season 8 is officially returning in next year.
GOT Season 7 was aired over the past summer. Only the GOT fans know that it is not only a fantasy drama television series. The previous season of the series had aired in this spring. No one is sure at this time that at what point Game of Thrones will air in 2019, but we can tell you that the final season of the series will consist of total six episodes.
On the other hand, Season 7 which was aired in past summer was of seven episodes while multiple episodes of which were more than an hour long. GOT star Sophie Turner previously told Variety that the production work of Season 8 of the series started in October and it is all set to air into the middle of this year.
The previous season of the series — Game of Thrones Season 7 was the highest rated season of the show yet, it broke several records in the process of gaining popularity. The finale of the Season 7 was watched by total 16.5 million viewers which also included people who watched the finale as it aired and night-of streams. While those 12.1 million people who watched the episode as it aired, making it the most-watched episode in the history of GOT series.
The latest season of the series will be directed by series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, Miguel Sapochnik, and David Nutter while the season will be written by Benioff and Weiss along with Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill. The new season is executive produced by Benioff and Weiss along with Bernadette Caulfield, Frank Doelger, and Carolyn Strauss. The Season 7 is co-executive produce by George R.R. Martin, Vince Gerardis, Guymon Casady, and Cogman.
