In the latest development, Google has been working on infiltrating the automotive industry which is for a very long time. They have managed to wedge the foot firmly in the door with the Android Auto which runs on the wide range of in-market cars which are popular brands. But this part is said to be never the ultimate goal as Android Auto has essentially just had the mirrors which have features from the Android device to car’s infotainment system. It is not about running the Android on the car, but it is all about having a desirable implementation which is known as Android Automotive.
This Mountain View tech giant has now shown off the ambitions of the platform at I/O 2018. The company has now announced about the partnership with the massive carmaking alliance Renaut-Nissan-Mitsubishi to run the Android Automotive powered infotainment systems which are in millions of cars which begins in the year 2021.
This step is said to be a massive step for Google as the alliance has sold a combined of about 10.6 million vehicles globally during the last year. It has gained the top spot in the international auto market which is also a big one for the hand the reigns which are over the tech companies. It comes to the operating systems which fear the loss of the valuable data. As per Kal Mos, who is the vice president of connected vehicles has said to the Wall Street Journal that Google had built trust in the last few years. The move will be certainly made senses from the consumer perspective as the infotainment systems are designed by auto companies which are far from popular with the buyers. Google has confirmed about this under the Android as AOSP.
