The world of smartphones has made it less probable to keep news hidden. In this highly connected world, it is even difficult to keep a smartphone under the wraps. Many unreleased devices of renowned manufacturers such as Samsung, Apple and others have been leaked online in various instances.
The Pixel 3XL, an upcoming flagship of Google, faced the same fate as its younger sibling, i.e. Pixel 3 did on Thursday and that too in quite an unconventional way. While Google has been plagued with a series of leaks before the launch of the Pixel 3, there is nothing more comic or puzzling to have the Pixel 3XL found on the backseat of a Lyft vehicle.
The driver of the Lyft vehicle in question sent images of the Pixel 3XL to popular smartphone information platform, Android Police after discovering it short after dropping off some passengers. The driver was able to recognize the next generation handset as he was already the owner of a Pixel 2 XL and was able to note the prominent notch on the device.
The images sent by the driver show the front and rear of the device and even if the phone is locked the standard Android 9 pie lock screen can be seen clearly. The lock screen is seen to note the date, time, temperature and current weather condition.
The close-up view of the notch depicts two cameras flanking the speaker grill which are supposedly expected to be a dual array of 8MP cameras each. The shot of the rear of the phone showed that the phone case was just removed.
Previous leaks of the Pixel 3 have shown that it may be having a 5.5-inch display with a 2:1 aspect ratio and 2160×1080 resolution. The Pixel 3 is also supposed to have a 2,915 mAh battery. The larger sibling, Pixel 3 Xl is touted to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and a RAM of 4GB. Many sources have indicated that both the devices would be unravelled on October 9th at Google launch event in New York City.
