You might feel happier by knowing that Nintendo is expected to bring Mario to Hollywood as according to a report published by the Wall Street Journal.
Illumination Entertainment, the company behind Despicable Me – which foisted Minions on the world have joined hands with the largest film studios in the world i.e. Universal Pictures for reaching a deal at Nintendo for an animated Super Mario Bros. movie. This can be the next awaited animated film of Hollywood.
The film will completely be centralized on Mario. The last and only feature-length film star Mario was the 1993’s Super Mario Brothers which starred Bob Hoskins.
Last year the Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima asked a Japanese Newspaper Asahi Shimbun that the company is in talks with some movie makers to make a movie based on its characters.
In the year 2015 also WSJ reporter Ben Fritz reported that Netflix was in production in a series based on Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda. But the facts are that series never happened.
If Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainments will join hands and sign a deal with Nintendo then this can be next biggest animated movie and they will surely take the deal to a peak.
