Kerry Washington who is better know as Olive Pope said goodbye to very popular American political thriller television series — Scandal.
The political drama aired on ABC has now come to its end after seven successful seasons. But for the leading lady of the show, it hard to say goodbye, she paid a heartfelt tribute to her time on the show with a lovely pair of pictures on Instagram. The first photo shows the 41-year-old Washington laying on the carpet which used on the set of the show’s fictional White House Oval Office.
The actress wrote in the caption of the pictures, “This picture was taken when we completed filming our very final scene in the Oval Office set.” She said, “So many of @scandalabc’s most iconic scenes happened in that Oval. It has been, in many ways, the center of our #Scandal universe. Other sets were already being dismantled and we knew this one would be next. So, before saying good-bye, I stretched out on that gorgeous rug and tried to just take it all in.”
A few “beloved crew members” soon joined the actress on the carpet. Washington wrote alongside the sweet gallery of pictures, “Because…. why not?”
The actress also thanked her fans and followers for watching the show throughout the years. She then mentioned about some strong bonds she developed on set and the legacy on the show.
“Tomorrow morning I will wake up and begin to try to process the magical dream of the past seven seasons,” she wrote. “I imagine it will take some time to really understand what just transpired in my life. But, this much, I know… I am filled with endless gratitude for our #Scandal Family. Our glorious cast & crew and our community of #Gladiators. TOGETHER, we have changed history. Transformed television. And illuminated each other’s lives.”
The actress continued, “Thank you for watching. And tweeting. And being with us!!!!”
