Congratulations to the newly engaged couple — Katharine McPhee and David Foster!
Katharine McPhee and David Foster get engaged, the surprise engagement news has been confirmed by the actress and singer’s representative Leslie Sloan, who told People that the couple got engaged.
The 34-year-old McPhee confirmed the engagement news by herself on social media via text with Just Jared founder Jared Eng and Ariana Grande gif, writing that the 68-year-old Foster proposed her during their trip to Italy, the couple has documented their fun-filled Italy vacation on Instagram over the past few days.
She jokingly said, “He did it at the top of this mountain in Anacapri. Totally dark, only stars. Thankfully he didn’t push me off the cliff. He said it was one or the other. And in the end he spared me.”

Foster also took to social media later on Tuesday and shared one of the many boat pictures the couple has clicked of each other during the vacation.
Foster simply wrote in the caption of the image: “🎼Yup!!.” While daughters Sara, 37, and Erin, 35, had more to say about their new mommy. Sara wrote, “Out of the country. What did I miss?” Erin Joked, “Mommmyyyy.”
Before the engagement news broke, the couple took turns clicking pictures of each other during a boat ride in Capri, which the pair shared on the site.
Foster posted a picture of himself, wearing a white button-down shirt and Khaki shorts along with sunglasses. He gave the credit of the snap to his lady love. He captioned the image of himself: “Summer Daze part 2.”
The musical couple was first romantically linked back in September 2017, after the latter’s daughter Erin posted a snap of them together in Los Angeles.
While the newly engaged couple has been pals for years — the couple met for the first time on the set of American Idol, where McPhee was a contestant back in 2006. Erin wrote in the caption of the image: “Excited about my new step mom.”
When asked about their relationship rumours, McPhee previously told People that she had “zero desire” to address the relationship rumours. She added, “It’s great that they want to do that. I think it’s so amusing that people are amused by my love life.”
She went on to say, “Here’s how I look at it: I’m not doing anything wrong, so whether people think it’s true or false … there’s nothing bad happening in my life, so people can just say whatever they want.”
The Waitress Broadway star and Foster have consistently avoided relationship rumours, but the two have never been shy when it comes to showing affection for each other publicly as they have attended several high profile events together.
McPhee even told Entertainment Tonight that she and Foster were having “fun date night” 2018 Met Gala, the two had attended the high-profile event together.
