Kid Rock announced his latest record on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday. But during the interview, he opened up about the political aspirations, he also spoke about his purported senate campaign.
When asked if he would be mounting a campaign to challenge Michigan’s incumbent, a Democrat Sen. Debbie Stabenow, Rock told Stern in response to radio host’s question, “F___ no, I’m not running for Senate!”
When he was directly asked mounting a campaign to challenge, he said, “Are you f___ing kidding me? Like who f___ing couldn’t figure that out?”
Rock elaborated that his previous senate campaign was a complex way of promoting his upcoming latest album Sweet Southern Sugar and his forthcoming tour, he said it is due to November 3 on The Howard Stern Show. In addition, his faux senate campaign involved campaign merchandise and elaborate website, the was announced in July announcement.
Rock explained, “Someone said I was going to run for Senate in Michigan and I’m like, ‘F___ it, let’s get some signs made.’”
He continued: “We start going, everyone gets their panties in a bunch! I have people that work for me, they’re in the in, I’m like, ‘F___ no, we’re not doing it, but let’s roll with it for a little while.’ I’m like, ‘This is awesome!’ And I have one of them call me, he goes, ‘Dude is this really happening?’ I’m like, ‘You’re in the in! What the f___ are you talking about!’”
Rock revealed that he enjoyed the response he got after declaring his candidacy. He told Stern, “As soon as I said like, ‘Maybe,’ everyone goes, ‘He’s the Klan wizard! He’s homophobic! He’s Islamophobic!’” He added, “I’m like, ‘This is kind of fun… might as well be (running).’”
He said that he thinks, “Trump is the f___ing sh__,” he stands in support of former chief strategist Steve Bannon. He said, “I went to the White House. Everyone’s like, ‘Dude, you’re the Klan wizard. You’re horrible now.’ I’m like, ‘By the way, I played Barack Obama’s f___ing inauguration!’”
