At late Monday morning, the tension was extremely high in Sunshine State, Florida as the Hurricane Irma become troublesome to the Keys. The people were eagerly waiting for heading back to their home in the heat.
According to the Monroe County Sheriffs Office’s officials, they were letting pass few Department of Transportation’s contractors and utility companies. However, two unidentified vehicles were passed through the checkpoint after which the wait of returning home at RaceTrac gas station erupted.
The schools in Broward and Miami remained closed due to the strong storm, the schools will remain closed until the next notice from Hurricane Irma.
In a press conference, Superintendent Alberto Carvalho said that the schools had to follow the safety inspections due to the intense weather.
“Despite intense weather across Miami-Dade over the weekend, the structural integrity of our schools appears strong. Inspections ongoing,” Carvalho tweeted.
After the evacuation orders, most of the stores, restaurants, and supermarkets were closed. Many stores, restaurants, and supermarkets reopened on Monday as the Category 5 hurricane brought the strong winds and flood to the South Florida.
Officials of Florida Keys cleared on Monday morning that it will remain closed until the further notice. Hurricane Irma has hit the island chain on Sunday.
On a conference call with the officials of federal and state, City General Manager Jim Scholl said on Monday morning, “We cannot support another mouth in Key West.”
On Monday, the strength of the hurricane downgraded to Category 4, the hurricane entered Georgia.
Not only stores, schools and restaurants were closed but Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Miami International Airport also remained closed on Monday due to the hurricane damage.
No update has been issued by the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport regarding reopening of the Airport, the airport assessed damage by the storm. Hurricane Irma has become troublesome for everyone.
