Ryder is one of the most known automobiles renter across many portions of the United States and others. Now Ryder is coming with a change by bringing electric vans as a carrier of goods.
Ryder is planning to launch 125 electric vans for renting purpose in its New York, California and Illinois market and the implement is expected by the end of the year. Let’s get a little more information about the upcoming electric cars for rent. The upcoming Change vans are a bit smaller than the medium duty Daimler electric trucks which were recently announced to be used by UPS to its fleet.
These vans are about 26.5 feet long and are built with a capacity to carry 6,000 pounds or up to 580 cubic feet of cargo. The van weights a curb weight of 10,000 pounds. Besides this, the van will be equipped with a 70kWh battery which is just the smallest unit of battery used in Tesla Model S.
The above-specified battery will give it a range of 100 miles which will later depend on how much cargo has been loaded into the van.
This can be a good initiative over enhancement of electric engines on road. Ryder made a noticeable change and this will surely make other company to opt the same and help in making environment pollution free.
