On Wednesday, four people which include a police officer were shot after a man has opened fire in the lobby of the municipal building which is present near the judge’s office in Masontown, Pennsylvania, as said by state police. The suspected gunman was also shot and then killed by the officer who is present at the scene, as said by the police.
The State police have said that it could not identify the suspect, but it was expected that to appear in District Judge Daniel Shimshon’s courtroom on Wednesday. The suspect had got the protection of abuse order which is levied against him regarding the domestic violence case.
The suspected gunman has seen to walked to the lobby and then he opened the fire and ultimately blown out the entrance of the courtroom. This was said by the CBS Pittsburgh affiliate KDKA reporter Julie Grant. He then walked towards the courtroom.
Masontown Mayor Toni Petrus was said to be present at the hospital on Wednesday afternoon to check on the Masontown police officer who had received non-life threating injuries which he sustained during the shooting. The state police have now confirmed with the help of social media that the shooting has taken place at about 2 PM on Wednesday at the Shimshon’s office in Masontown. This town is about 60 miles south of Pittsburgh.
The 911 supervisor said that the two victims were flown to the Ruby Memorial Hospital Morgantown, West Virginia with the help of the helicopter and the other will be taken to the hospital with the help of the ambulance. The criticality of the injuries is still unknown until Wednesday afternoon. As per a witness, he said that he was in the parking lot when he heard the gunshots. When he turned, he saw a woman running from a man who has got a gun.
