Last week’s episode of The 100 focused a lot on negotiations and confrontations. Aside from the situation going on at Becca’s lab with Raven, Abigail and Jackson, everyone seemed to put forth some sort of sales pitch. Regardless of the specifics of the individual negotiations, everyone had the same goal of wanting to prevent unnecessary deaths.
The 100 Season 4 Episode 6 “We Will Rise”
A short week after the news of The 100’s season 5 renewal, the show comes back with episode 6 “We Will Rise,” and it seems as though stakes are higher than ever as Roan and Clarke work together to try and save the human race from radiation poisoning. The combination of these two leaders comes after the decision they made in “The Tinder Box” to share the arc once the radiation hit. Unfortunately to them (and the rest of their people), Ilian blew up the Ark to get rid of all the tech it stored. Can we blame him? So now it seems Wanhada and the King need to work together to find a different path of salvation.
The two are transporting a dangerous substance to Abby so she can use it for something scientific in Becca’s lab, and we all know that this stuff can go boom according to Raven.
Let’s take a quick look at those negotiation efforts before looking at what to expect in the next episode. The biggest negotiation event took place between Clarke and King Roan during a standoff between their clans. Roan’s actual intent was to take Alpha Station by force by matching his Ice Nation soldiers to Arkadia. Luckily, Octavia warned Clarke about Roan’s approach and she had Skaikru ready for them. When Roan eventually encountered Clarke during Ice Nation’s march, it appeared that she was alone. However, this proved to be false as Echo pointed out several sniper scope beams aimed at Roan. He tried to regain leverage by showing that he has Kane and Bellamy held hostage, but Clarke didn’t budge. She asked for 10 minutes of his time to talk and he agreed.
