A cashless way is going to be offered by Jaguar to pay for fuel. The world’s first ever in – car payment system is being introduced by the carmaker partnering with shell. The new rolled out App Apple pay will be utilized to pay for fuel instead of cash or using a card. It doesn’t require a driver to get out of the car and can be done simply. The new system introduced will be available among selected Jaguar vehicles and service is provided by some of the shell stations. The reports suggest that the Jaguar XE, F-Pace, and XF models will initially have this new feature.

The In car payment system starts with the driver operating the Shell app in his/her iPhone via the car’s In-control system, a feature showing the connection of various services related to the vehicle. The app will be displayed on the touch screen of the in-car display. The driver will be guided to the nearby Shell station with the support of payment app. On arrival to the station, the driver needs to tell the app that which pump will be used to refuel the car. Once the transaction gets completed on there fueling of the vehicle, the transaction details will get indicated in the receipt shown by the app.

Peter Virk, Jaguar Land Rover Director of Connected technologies and apps, explained that contactless cards and electronic payments are gaining popularity as the payment method of choice. Paying by just tapping on the touch screen in the car will make refueling easier and faster.

The cashless system introduced is supported by Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles with the control infotainment system, according to the Mac Rumors. For now, it is available in the United Kingdom but will be available in the world within a year.

The line of XE, F-PACE, and XF will also be receiving the advanced Ingenium engines which are available for both diesel and petrol.
